Risky Business on Cloud 9 {Wedding Photographer-Eureka, California}

I recently had the pleasure of capturing the special moments for Michaela and Matthew's December wedding *gasp*!...in Shelter Cove **double gasp**! Everyone on the North Coast knows that planning a wedding in December around here is risky business. But we also know that in life, you'll never get rewarded without taking those risks. Well Miss Michaela knew EXACTLY what she was doing and did it with flare. With the perfect color scheme, in the perfect space, with the perfect ice sculpture centerpieces, it was almost as if she knew that a fog bank below the house was the perfect accessory to top off the occasion! When some couples might shudder at the thought of having their guests hold umbrellas during the ceremony, this Mr. and Mrs. embraced it and ended up with some very charming shots because of it. Nicely done guys, your day was simply magical!

I left my heart in Pasadena {Wedding Photographer - Eureka, CA}

Ok. I confess. I am OBSESSED with weddings! I know as a wedding photographer I am required to at least like them, but long before I ever had a wedding of my own to plan I had an embarrassingly large collection of magazines on the subject (my husband can attest to this). Even now, over a year beyond my nuptials, I can't help but marvel over the beauty that is the wedding gown. For years now, Maggie Sottero has been my hands down favorite bridal designer & I can't say enough about what her designs do for a woman's body. So imagine my delight when I visited her website this morning & saw that they have the Spring 2011 gallery up! As I perused the new beauties & let out little oohs and aahs, one made my heart skip a beat. I'm not saying I don't love my wedding dress, but if I got to do it a second time, I would choose "Pasadena".

Pasadena - by Maggie Sottero

The crumb-catcher bodice, the pick-ups in the skirt & the perfect amount of sparkle, *sigh*, simply exquisite.

Just for fun, here is me in my gorgeous Miss Krisha Marie. Thanks to my beautiful & talented friend Maria Ortiz of Papillon Photography for the lovely portrait! :)

If any of you future brides out there in the Humboldt County area are looking for a good place to get your wedding gown, definitely go to Promises Bridal & Formal Wear. I can't say enough about their wonderful service & great selection (including Ms. Sottero, of course!) And no need to go out of town! See! I work holidays! :) {Child Portraits, Portrait Photographer-Eureka, CA}

Given the unreliable weather around here, sometimes in my line of work I have to take advantage of a nice day when I can...even if it's Thanksgiving. We met up with little Wyatt and his parents at the park and zoo for a little "play date", as far as Wyatt was concerned. He soon wised up and realized that we were really there to take his 4 year portraits. Try as he did to keep me from aiming my lens in his direction, we still got some cute shots of him and his unlikely new favorite toy: a little yellow chair that I brought along for the shoot. Enjoy his mischievous, dimpled little grins!
